Curiosity: perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Gramineae family, which can grow up to one and a half meters in height, with long and tenacious roots that penetrate deep into the soil, counteracting its erosion. The name comes from the Tamil word vettiveru, where vetti means "to tear" and ver means "root". In various aromatherapeutic and ayurvedic sources its Essential Oil is called "the oil of calm", as it is said to promote stability, confidence and tranquility.
